Daily is the key word in many aspects of life. Religion is something you are born in and from day 1, your family will try hard to make you religious. Before you start to speak, you will be trained to pray to the almighty.
And then you do it because you are naive and don’t have any world experience. You do it again each day because that’s how you are being told.
Getting up and showering is a basic thing, it should be followed by praying because it will give you peace, strength and bring in strength to face the world. Add to that, you can solve all your problems by confiding in the unknown and asking for way. But the solution won’t be provided to you instantly, instead you need to persist and do the hard work.
And when the hard work pays off, you have to thank almighty for the magic done. At this point, you don’t question what is happening because it is a part of your daily ritual.
The School System
The focus of school is partly to give education so that you can conquer the world with the wisdom you have gained. And partly it is to give you the daily ritual of doing homework. So that you get disciplined and ready for the factory job.
Slowly you start to settle in and then look for the identities. You fit in because it is encouraged. Be like everyone – do some sports, excel in education which means getting great marks and then do the homework on time. It doesn’t matter how much you have understand, the school thinks of you as a metric to promote the school.
And suddenly when you are looking for a job, the first question is how do you stand out?
Baffled, you explain the school taught you to fit in. So they give you the low key job with a meagre salary to survive.
The effect of doing something daily as a ritual is catastrophic – be it positive or negative.
Swimming It Is
So if for you swimming becomes a daily ritual then it is a good thing. It would mean that you are valuing it for than just a hobby. You want to do more of it and bring in the energy to accomplish stuff.
So whatever the stuff you want to excel in, get out and do the daily ritual thing.
