It seems a day off is always preferred. But what do you plan to do? Watch some television or play some games. Both of which is fine – but is it because you didn’t have something else to do and the time just slipped by. When you are at work – your boss has schedule and you are supposed to deliver.
And when you get a day off – you end up doing all the mundane things lazily and the day vanishes. Yes, you got to relax. But reflecting back, did you need a whole day to relax or would it be fine to relax for 10 hours.
When you don’t plan things out – you end up doing whatever comes to your mind. And often it is something which doesn’t add to your creative endeavor.
So, Netflix and entertainment games are fine. But it should be a part of your plan and not something which you do because you had no plan.
If you plan something and it didn’t pan out then you should try it again. Because unless planning is in your routine, your mind and body won’t work around it.
So let’s say you want to swim 5 days in a week, then you need to plan for the upcoming week today and include swimming in slots. Add reminders and write it down in calendar. Slowly the reminders would pop up, initially you would do half of them.
But if you persist, you will start doing more and more. And before you realize planning and doing things will become your second nature.
Most of the times you might have encountered a day where you got nothing to do. And then you switched on the television and started watching bunch of shows, repeats and had a good time.
But if you had a time at night when you thought, that you could have done something instead – that is a feeling of regret.
Try to avoid that by planning to do creative things or work you like in the beginning of day. So by the time you are done with your endeavor it is okay to watch Netflix. Because you have done making your thing. Slowly you will look forward to days where you can relax, because you would still had done your creative thing.
Slash that regret by planning in advance and doing it. You are more capable than you think you are.
Go ahead and plan for one day and try to accomplish it. And then ramp it up for 2 days, week.
Once you reach a week try to plan things out in Thursday for the next week. And you will be on track for becoming a beast to get things done. You will never feel down again for not doing things, everything will be planned – you can.
