Once I learnt swimming – I had this urge to do more. How about I dive from 10 feet above or hold my breath underwater for longer times. I felt the power being able to swim – one skill had been added to my kitty. And now I needed to level up my game – something to brag about, be proud of and fancy thing to do.
Being on the edgy side has it’s advantage. Some people could do treading with just legs, some with just hands. Few could maintain a handstand inside the water. Wow, that guy was indeed superhuman. Another guy used to hop and swim. Meaning he would touch the ground many times while swimming – a spectacle to behold.
Needless to say – I wanted to find my superpower. And it has to be something few people could do.
Enter back crawl – the ultimate swag, style master.
Suffice to say laying on your back and crawling backwards is no easy feat. I haven’t mastered it but it is a start and the coolness factor is up by 100 percent.
First you need to learn floating on the back – many people find it difficult to stay afloat without doing any movement. I can do the back float with no movement so that makes me more cool. And then you slowly do the paddle movement with your hands and feet. And boom – off you go.
A key thing to remember is the direction. Since you can’t see where you are heading – you have to find something you can see to relate your direction. Try it few times and then you can do the back crawl in a straight line. Or else, you might get in way of other people – which isn’t a pleasant thing.
In Your Mind
Like most of the things in life – when you first see someone doing a back crawl – your basic instinct is to be in awe. And then renounce that it is difficult and perhaps you can’t do it.
Maybe you can’t for some reason. But if ain’t life threatening it is okay to try and fail.
This is where many people give up. But you are on the other side where the success is at your feet literally. The more you power – the more time you can do the back crawl and slay some swag. So go – more power to you.
